The WATER project (Winning Applications of nanoTEchnology for Resolutive hydropurification) intends to develop innovative applications of certain classes of nanostructures to the global problem of water purification. The action includes research activities, the purchase of new equipments and the recruitment of young researchers.
The Water project is coordinated by the Italian National Research Council (CNR)-Catania, the largest public research institution in Italy. The Unit of the Institute of Microelectronics and Microsystems (IMM), located at the Department of Physics of the University of Catania, has been carrying out for decades a wide and recognized research activity on nanotechnology.
