Institute of Chemical Methods and Processes for the Transformation and Storage of Energy was founded in 1980, and would later become the "Nicola Giordano" Institute for Advanced Energy Technologies (ITAE).
The Institute researchÂ activities are divided into the following lines of research:
Hydrogen and envinromentally friendly fuels
Storage and rational use of energy
New technologies - Renewable Energies integration
Fuel Cells (PEFC and AMFC), Hydrogen Storage and RFB (Redox Flow Battery) for clean and efficient energy production and storage.
Development, Design and Testing of Innovative materials, components and device integration for Renewable Energy Sources.
Development and integration of PEFC (Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cell) stacks for custom applications (portable, automotive, stationary, space and marine).
Testing of PEFC stack, hydrogen storage materials under customer specifications.
